What does BIOS stand for?

BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System.

What does CMOS stand for?

CMOS stands for Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (commonly referred as BIOS).

What does POST stand for?

POST stands for Power On Self Test.

Can a computer POST without a CPU?

No. If any of the tests fail then system doesn't complete the POST and will not start.
